Cattleâcolloquially cowsâare the most common type of large domesticated ungulates. They are a prominent modern member of the subfamily Bovinae, are the most widespread species of the genus Bos, and are most commonly classified collectively as Bos taurus.

Lifespan: 18 â 22Â years.

Cows of certain breeds that are kept for the milk they give are called dairy cows or milking cows (formerly milch cows). Most young male offspring of dairy cows are sold for veal, and may be referred to as veal calves. ... In some places, a cow kept to provide milk for one family is called a "house cow".

Recently, an Indian minister from Rajasthan, Vasudev Devnani made a statement that âcow is the only animal that inhales and exhales oxygenâ and emphasised that âpeople need to acknowledge 'scientific significance' of the animal. There is no doubt that cow is revered in Hindu religion but it doesnât mean that one has to âlieâ to prove his point on Hindu religion.
All animals inhale the atmospheric gases, however the percentage of CO2 is greater and O2 in exhaled air is less when compared to the air inhaled. This is due to the fact that, body uses oxygen for metabolism, whereas CO2 is a product of metabolism. The minister must be a fool to make such remarks. If ministers like him are ruling India, than God knows what will become of this country called Bharat MataâŚmay be it will be soon referred to as Gaye MataâŚ
